BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY REACTION (BART) TESTING KITS

Biological Activity Reaction (BART) Testing Kits

In the past, it had been very difficult to come to an accurate diagnosis of the type of nuisance bacteria present in a water well. Previous methods involved collecting a sample at the well site and then sending the sample to a laboratory for time-consuming and expensive analysis.

Now, however, there is a timely, affordable solution for identifying the nuisance bacteria affecting your water well: the Biological Activity Reaction (BART) Water Testing Kit.

HOW TO USE A BART KIT

Conducting a test is easy. Simply collect a water sample from the well in question and pour it into the BART testing vial. Observe the vial for a period of eight days. The IRB BART test will display a positive result when there is foam produced and/or a brown ring develops as a ring around the interior vial of the testing tube.

BART VILE INSTRUCTIONS

OBSERVATION PERIOD

Once the sample has been collected, the next step it to observe how quickly the reaction takes place. This period of observation should occur daily over a period of eight days. If a reaction does occur, note how many days elapsed for the reaction to take place. Compare the number of elapsed days to the chart below to determine the population (cfu/mL) and aggressiveness of the bacteria within the water sample.

IDENTIFYING THE TYPE OF BACTERIA

Determining the strain of bacteria within the water sample can be determined by comparing the coloration change in the sample to the chart below. This change in coloration should occur within the eight-day observation period.

Once you have determined the bacteria strain and aggressively, the next step is to consider treating the well with the appropriate dose of BoreSaver Ultra C. Ultra C will eliminate the bio-fouling that is a by-product of the bacteria present within the well.

ORDER YOUR BART KIT TODAY

Order your BART kit directly from Laval Underground Surveys. BART Kits are in stock and ready to ship the same day. BART kits are available for detecting iron bacteria bio-fouling and sulfur-reducing bacteria. Each order comes with three testing vials suitable for conducting three tests.
